Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon to Host a Virtual Challenge for Students Throughout the 119th District

In an effort to help encourage home education, Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon is inviting all students to take part in a legislative challenge.

'Can You Pass A Bill Challenge' asks students to design an original bill for New York State. The bill must clearly define its guidelines and explain why it’s needed in our state.

To get students deeper into the legislative process, the challenge stages a voting session and encourages students to make amendments to their bill in order to adhere to their constituents. Once their bill is ready, students can submit it directly to the Assemblywoman.

Every student who submits their bill will receive a letter and certificate from the 119th Assembly District office.

Assemblywoman Buttenschon hopes these awards will serve as a reminder that hard work and perseverance, even through the toughest times, can come with great rewards.

‘Can You Pass A Bill Challenge’ can be found on the Assemblywoman’s website, https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Marianne-Buttenschon, and on her Facebook page, Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon. The challenge runs through May 7, 2020.
