Simpson Joins Colleagues In Calling For Employment Inclusion For Those With Differing Abilities

Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C,I-Horicon) joined his colleagues Steve Stern and Jarrett Gandolfo and Down syndrome advocates John and Mark Cronin at a press conference highlighting the advocacy efforts of the Cronin’s for those with differing abilities. John Cronin is the founder of ‘John’s Crazy Socks’ and a sitting member of the Board of the National Down Syndrome society. Cronin and his father, Mark, are at the center of a bipartisan resolution that speaks to the importance of promoting inclusion and employment for those with differing abilities in the workplace.

“Today’s press conference also coincides with World Down Syndrome Day where we raise awareness about Down syndrome and how we can make sure everyone is included in the workplace. The work of both John and Mark Cronin is admirable, and we need to back them here in Albany. Raising awareness and providing resources for those who have so disproportionately been affected by the pandemic must remain a legislative priority. I am proud to support today’s resolution, and I will continue to work for the betterment of our differing abilities community,” said Simpson.
