Simpson Congratulates Ticonderoga as the $10 Million North Country Winner
Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Horicon) today congratulated the town of Ticonderoga for being the recipient of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Of the 10-round winners, the town will receive $10 million in funding to help boost the community and economy by transforming the town and its neighborhoods. The DRI thoroughly researches towns throughout the state before deciding which is most deserving of the grants, depending on potential economic and physical growth opportunities, community engagement, and capability of operating major transformations to the surrounding area.
“It is a very special moment to see a North Country town receive such a generous grant from the state. Parts of my district include small towns that can often be overlooked, despite their historical roots, beautiful scenery, and economic opportunities. Seeing such a deserving town such as Ticonderoga receive this opportunity, it is long overdue. I cannot wait to see the improvements they will make and how this will continue to bring more opportunities to nearby communities,” said Simpson.
