On Wednesday, Assemblyman Matt Simpson recognized 5th-grade students from the Willsboro Central School District on the Assembly floor. These students were led by their teacher, Miss Tara Valachovic, (Heather Walsh was unable to attend). These students were visiting the Capitol to learn and see firsthand the civic responsibilities of the state government.

“I had the privilege of visiting the Willsboro Central School District and meeting with these wonderful students early this year. The students have been learning about the role of government and during my visit they were able to ask very inquisitive and civically minded questions.

“I believe that for many of these students, this may be their first time here in the New York state Capitol. Their willingness to come and engage with their state government representativesat such a young age is a feat in itself that deserves acknowledgment,” said Simpson.
