Simpson Applauds President Trump’s Historic Israel-Palestine Peace Deal
President Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed to implement the first phase of a peace deal.
Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Adirondack) joins voices around the globe in acknowledging the groundbreaking peace agreement brokered by President Donald J. Trump in the Israel-Palestine conflict. After years of heartbreak and devastation, this deal brings hope for a region long entangled in strife. The deal paves the way for a ceasefire, hostage releases and a commitment to dialogue. It is, without question, a good day for the world.
“I commend the president for his pursuit of peace in the Middle East,” said Simpson. “This agreement could only have been achieved through the kind of strong leadership that prioritizes security and a relentless pursuit of stability. This shows that true progress demands leaders who don’t flinch from the tough calls.”
The agreement comes after two years of war that began on Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, killed 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
“My thoughts and prayers remain with the families on both sides who have suffered unimaginable loss, and I urge all parties to build on this foundation for lasting reconciliation,” Simpson concluded.
