Simpson Introduces Staff
Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C,I-Horicon) has finalized his staff search and hired those who will best help him serve in Albany, making sure to bring on individuals with customer service skills and community roots.
“I believe the 114th Assembly District will be well served by our new hires. They are hardworking and committed to making voices in our community heard at the state level. I am looking forward to everyone getting to know them,” said Simpson.
Matthew MacDonald has been tapped to serve as chief of staff for the 114th district’s newly elected New York State assemblyman, Matthew Simpson.
“I have always been passionate about serving the community in which I live in whatever capacity I am able to provide. This role will allow me to fully immerse myself in public service and, I look forward to making a positive impact for the constituents of the 114th District with Mr. Simpson,” said MacDonald.
MacDonald currently resides in the city of Glens Falls and was previously employed by Champlain Stone, Ltd. as a project development coordinator. Matthew is a graduate of Queensbury High School and, later, the State University of New York Plattsburgh where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in both history and political science.
Kiersten DeCanio has accepted the post of district office manager for the assemblyman.
“I am a fervent believer in creating connections that create a stronger community. I am eager to participate in the role of helping the people of our district have a greater connection with their elected representative,” she said.
Kiersten resides in the town of Queensbury and is a graduate of SUNY Adirondack where she obtained her degree in criminal justice, having graduated cum laude, and is set to obtain her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York Plattsburgh. She brings a wealth of organizing experience with a strong background of volunteerism that will ensure constituent service needs of the 114th District will be met.
