Assembly Members Durso, Gandolfo, and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Hold a Free Child ID Card Program

New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (Massapequa Park), in coordination with Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo (Sayville), and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office recently held a free ‘Operation Safe Child’ ID Card Program at the Bay Shore - Brightwaters Public Library. Operation Safe Child provides parents with an identification card for their children containing pertinent physical information to give law enforcement officials a head start on a missing child. The child ID card includes the child’s name, birthdate, age, gender, hair and eye color, height and weight, fingerprints, and a high-resolution digital photo.

“As a dad of two young children, the Operation Safe Child ID card offers parents peace of mind knowing that in case of an emergency we will have an ID with all of our child’s vital information to immediately provide to police officers,” said Assemblyman Durso. “I want to personally thank the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office for all they do to keep our kids and communities safe.”
