Assemblyman Durso Congratulates Joan Caliendo on Being Crowned Ms. New York Senior America 2024

New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (R - Massapequa Park) recently honored Town of Babylon resident Joan Caliendo on being crowned Ms. New York Senior America 2024 at the 39th Annual Ms. New York Senior America Pageant at the Merrick Theatre and Center for the Arts in May.

Ms. Caliendo competed with women from across the state in four categories: Personal Interview, Evening Gown Presentation, Philosophy of Life, and Talent.

During her year long reign as Queen, Joan will participate in programs and activities that promote a positive image of aging and enhance the lives women who have reached the Age of Elegance.

She will compete at the 41st Annual Ms. Senior America National Pageant at the Tropicana Atlantic City in October, representing the State of New York.

Joan Caliendo was named a 2022 New York State Assembly Women of Distinction honoree by Assemblyman Durso. Joan was presented with a proclamation for her 39 years of service as an educator and her contributions to the community. Joan served as an Advanced Placement teacher, mentor, coach, advisor, and Vice President of the Carle Place Teacher’s Association during her 33 years at Carle Place High School. Upon retiring in 2022, Joan became a consultant for both Eastern and Western Suffolk BOCES.
