Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,C-Lockport) is sponsoring a community blood drive with ConnectLife on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union located at 6485 South Transit Road in Lockport. The blood drive will be held in the ConnectLife mobile blood drive bus, not in the bank itself.

“January is National Blood Donor Month, and I wanted to take this opportunity to continue our efforts to encourage donation by sponsoring this event,” said Norris. “Donating blood is a simple, safe and relatively quick way to help save other people’s lives. As we are starting a new year and everyone is looking for a way to ‘pay it forward,’ donating blood is an excellent way to start the new year off doing an immeasurably good deed for the community.”

Most people are eligible to donate blood, and the process does not take very long to do. To donate, you must be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 120 pounds and be in good health.
