Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,C-Lockport) was joined by very special guest, Santa Claus, at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH) to deliver toys donated by the community in the 144^th Assembly District through the Christmas in July Toy Drive. Norris and Santa were able to deliver the toys, books and activity sets directly to the children at the hospital along with hospital staff and children’s families in attendance.

“The outpouring of support from our community has exceeded expectations again,” said Norris. “I am so grateful for the kindness and generosity of spirit demonstrated by our community in helping to bring joy to these children, reminding them of the simple pleasures of being a child at a time when they—and those who care for them—need it most. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and for our partners who made this drive possible.”

“Thank you to everyone who played a part in brightening the lives of these remarkable children,” said Jessica Mabie, Chief Operating Officer of OCH. “While we expect holiday donations in November and December, maintaining that effort during the summer helps countless families.”

In addition to today’s special guest from the North Pole, Norris also partnered with the Lockport Family YMCA and public libraries from throughout the 144^th Assembly District including Lockport, Clarence, Newfane and Wilson to help collect the toys donated to the drive.
