I would like to thank Gov. Cuomo for declaring a state of emergency for Niagara and Orleans counties being impacted by Lake Ontario flooding. For the past two weeks, too many of my constituents have seen water levels rise around their homes, businesses and properties and I am pleased the Governor has continued to send assistance and now declared a state of emergency.

By this action, the state has implemented a response team, additional equipment and resources, and the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will have the ability to issue emergency permits. If you need to contact the DEC regarding erosion or permits, you can call 1-866-244-3839.
