Norris: Bipartisan State Efforts Lead To Immediate Relief For Lake Ontario Flood-Impacted Infrastructure
A Statement from Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,I-Lockport) on the Passage of A.7712
May 23, 2017
To address the state of emergency along the southern shore of Lake Ontario, my colleagues and I have been working together in a bipartisan fashion to find solutions to protect properties and municipal infrastructure along the shore of Lake Ontario. I am very pleased we have found consensus on using a portion of the funds from the Water Infrastructure Act of 2017, enacted as part of this year’s budget, to provide some relief for those municipalities impacted by Lake Ontario flooding. We will continue working together to monitor this devastating situation and do everything we can to support the communities, homes and businesses impacted, while urging the federal government to work with the Canadian government to reconsider Plan 2014.
