Norris: Assembly Majoritys Budget Spends Too Much
A Statement from Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,C,I,Ref-Lockport)
March 13, 2019
Though there is some positive news in the Assembly Majoritys one-house budget namely restorations to the Aid to Municipality funding and Extreme Winter Recovery Program, a long overdue increase in reimbursement for local governments that maintain state roads, and an increase for direct-care workers starting in 2020 overall this budget proposal would cripple our states finances if enacted. At a whopping $175.6 billion total, the Assembly Majoritys budget goes over the states two percent spending cap, provides no tax or mandate relief and implements $1.6 billion in new taxes.
