Assemblyman Montesano Takes Oath Of Office In State Capitol

New lawmaker pledges to work for good of Nassau families threatened by high property taxes and record unemployment

Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) was officially sworn into office today at the state Capitol as the new representative of the 15th Assembly District. The lawmaker was joined by Nassau County friends in the Assembly Red Room. Assemblyman Montesano, a Glen Head native, was a police officer and detective for the NYPD for a decade and also served as an EMT supervisor and investigator for the NYC Emergency Medical Services. In addition to his volunteer and charity efforts in the Nassau community, Montesano started his own private practice law firm in 1990 and has served as an adjunct professor for the New York Institute of Technology.

“I am proud to represent the working families and small-business owners of the 15th Assembly District,” said Montesano. “I am committed to changing the culture of Albany to make it more responsible to the people of the great state of New York. This includes supporting conditions in the private sector to create more jobs, capping sky-high school property taxes, and reining in reckless spending that is driving up deficits in our fragile economic climate. The time for change is now.”
