Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) joined local dignitaries at Westbury Manor on April 29 for the Columbian Lawyers’ Association of Nassau County’s monthly dinner. Featured speaker Lou Carnesecca, Basketball Hall of Fame head coach for St. John’s University, was welcomed by the lawyers, judges and legal experts assembled for the event.

The Columbian Lawyers’ Association of Nassau County was founded in 1977 and today counts more than 400 lawyers and jurists as members. The association also has representatives in Long Island law schools in order to encourage membership among active students. In 1994, the Columbian Lawyers’ Association of Nassau County joined the Confederation of Columbian Lawyer Associations. This umbrella organization claims over 1,500 attorneys that live and work in the Long Island and metropolitan area.

“The Columbian Lawyers’ Association of Nassau County is an organization unlike any other,” Montesano said. “Its membership and its mission are dedicated to service, law and American values. I was so happy to join Coach Carnesecca at Westbury Manor for the association’s dinner celebration, and I expect its members to continue their full-court press in legal matters and by supporting those lawyers and jurists of Italian descent.”
