Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) recently headlined an event to promote safety for our children during car rides. Sponsored by the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board, the May 21 Car Seat Safety Check was an opportunity to learn from safety professionals how to properly and safely install a child’s car seat. The Car Seat Safety Check was held at Assemblyman Montesano’s district office in Hicksville.

“I’d like to thank Chris Mistron and the staff of the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board for making my first Car Seat Safety Check a success,” Montesano said. “According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 75 percent of parents nationwide do not properly use child safety restraints in their vehicles. Car accidents remain the number one cause of death among children. We can do better. Have your safety seat inspected by a professional like Chris, and always remember to buckle up.”
