Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) attended yesterday’s NYSUNY 2020 plan presentation given by Stony Brook University. Many were in attendance to hear the proposals, including assembly members, state senators and Governor Cuomo. Numerous representatives from the university, as well regional stakeholders, presented their plan that would both help address the major issues facing public higher education and revitalize the university and the Long Island economy.

“I was impressed by the plan and its goals to help both the community and the university,” said Montesano. “The plan would give the university the necessary tools to make positive changes to their institution, specifically in the area of cancer research, and spur the business climate in Nassau and Suffolk counties to new heights. I hope that with this plan we can help make New York the home of innovation.”
