Montesano Joins In 40th Anniversary Reunion Celebration At Ben’s Delicatessen

Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R, I, C – Glen Head) joined Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant and Caterers owners Ronnie and Cindy Dragoon, along with fellow patrons, at its Greenvale location on February 28. The occasion was a reunion celebration marking the popular deli’s 40th anniversary. Since the original location in Baldwin has since closed, the event took place at the Greenvale venue. At the event, Montesano presented Ben’s Deli with an Assembly Citation commending them for their long-standing success in the community.

“As a Glen Head resident, I’ve been a fan of Ben’s Deli for a long time and have seen them grow beyond their Hicksville beginnings,” said Montesano. “Their expansion from a single restaurant in Baldwin 40 years ago to six locations today is a testament to their hard work and the excellent quality of food and service they provide.”

Ben’s Deli was founded in 1972 by Ronnie Dragoon and his father Ben. Ben left the business after six months, but the restaurant still bears his name. Since opening in Baldwin, Ben’s has expanded to three locations in Long Island as well as delis in Queens, Manhattan and Boca Raton, Florida.
