Assemblyman Michael Montesano at a hearing today on the future of LIPA.
Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) took part in a hearing today regarding the future of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). The hearing was held to determine the best course of action to ensure Long Island residents receive electrical and customer service at affordable rates. Montesano has been vocal in his criticism of LIPA since entering office in 2010.
LIPA has failed Long Island residents time and again when it comes to delivering services effectively and efficiently, said Montesano. Their complete and utter failure in the wake of Superstorm Sandy was just the latest in a long line of blunders from this inept power authority.
It has been clear for years that LIPA needs to be held accountable for their missteps and replaced with something better. This hearing I took part in today will be crucial in determining the best way possible to deliver essential services to our residents.
