Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,I,LBT-Glen Head) is joining his colleagues in the Assembly to support legislation to prohibit state agencies from requiring children under 18 to wear a mask if they are asymptomatic.
“With positivity rates as low as they are, there is no reason to restrict our children like this,” said Montesano. “Our youth is in the lowest risk group for this virus and they have suffered enough this past year. The governor wants to wait to lift all the restrictions until we are at a 70 percent vaccination rate, which we have nearly reached. I say we start now by lifting the mask requirements from minors. It’s time we move toward repairing and restoring New York.”
