Tannousis Committed to Using Prosecutorial Experience to Find Answers
Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R,C- Staten Island/Brooklyn) is committed to using his experience as a prosecutor to assist the Assembly Judiciary Committee in getting to the truth surrounding alleged claims of fraudulent COVID-19 data and alleged sexual misconduct by Gov. Cuomo.
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx) announced Thursday that he would be authorizing the Assembly Judiciary Committee to launch an impeachment inquiry into the allegations regarding the ongoing nursing home and sexual misconduct scandals plaguing Gov. Cuomo.
“This impeachment inquiry into the long list of allegations against the governor is essential to preserving the rule of law and ensuring justice,” said Tannousis. “The volume and severity of the claims against the governor have necessitated our legislative duty to investigate and, if necessary, impeach the governor.
Interviewing witnesses and issuing subpoenas for documents and testimony are cornerstones of any investigation. With a decade of experience as a prosecutor, Tannousis has the temperament and experience to utilize his skills and knowledge to meaningful contribute in a full and thorough investigation.
“The situation at hand is serious. I will do everything in my power to vet all witnesses and analyze all of the evidence relevant to the allegations of fraud and deceit surrounding COVID-19 data and sexual misconduct by the governor. I am committed to a transparent and full investigation of the governor to ensure accountability and trust in our state government,” said Tannousis.
