Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R,C,I- Staten Island/Brooklyn) celebrated a legislative victory today with the passing of a bill to extend the time period for the conveyance of lands for the establishment of the Gateway National Recreation Area until June 30, 2023. This bill (A.7259) ensures the area will continue to be available for use and exploration by patrons of all ages in the Staten Island community.

"The Gateway National Recreation Area is a beautiful park filled with countless places to relax and enjoy the outdoors in a historic setting,” said Tannousis. “I am proud to have been able to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle on this bill and look forward to seeing my constituents enjoy this park for years to come.”
