Assemblymember Hunter: Central NY Priorities Addressed in State of the State Address
“The governor laid out several proposals today that fall in line with my priorities this legislative session. Our roads, bridges and water mains are crumbling, especially in Central New York where the city of Syracuse saw 372 water main breaks in 2015. The proposed Transportation Capital Plan and the municipal water infrastructure improvement program would invest in our most needed infrastructure improvements.
“I am pleased that Governor Cuomo focused on one of my top priorities of making it more affordable to live, work and travel in Central New York. By increasing the minimum wage, fighting to close the gap of income inequality and lifting people out of poverty and freezing tolls as well as reducing the cost of tolls for those who travel the most on the Thruway, we can help families stay and put down roots here.
“I look forward to working with the governor and my colleagues in the legislature to make sure that these proposals are included in discussions leading up to the final budget. I will fight to ensure that the issues and challenges we face in Central New York are given their fair share of attention and that we continue to invest in our communities.”
