- At a tour of zero-emission building in downtown Albany
- At an Arbor Day celebration with Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos in Albany
- Celebrating the ribbon cutting of Motor Oil Coffee
- At a press conference calling for updated lead pipes across NYS
- At a rally calling for passage of my climate legislation, the NY HEAT Act
- At a healthcare roundtable sponsored by HANYS
- With Senator Michelle Hinchey and Lt. Gov Antonio Delgado
- Media interviews during session
- Celebrating the opening of Café Mel!
- Standing with Safe Streets advocates for traffic safety legislation I sponsored
- With local artists in front of mural in downtown Albany they’ve created
- With AM McDonald at the Black Nurses Coalition camp
- Calling for the Passage of the New York Taxpayer and International Sovereign Debt Act. I joined coalition members to urge the Assembly to pass my legislation (A.2970) that addresses sovereign debt recoverability under New York law.
- Community of Excellence Award. I was proud to receive the College of Saint Rose's Community of Excellence Award alongside Dominick Purnomo, James Reed, M.D., and Saint Rose President Marcia White.
- Joined by Paul and Mary Liz Stewart, co-founders of the Underground Railroad Education Center, Albany County Legislators Wanda Willingham, Carolyn McLaughlin, Bill Clay, and more to announce a $2,000,000 grant secured in partnership with Assemblymember John McDonald and Speaker Carl Heastie.
- Brendan Fahy Bequette's Memory Continues to Inspire. During an event at the Albany Center Art Gallery, grants were awarded for students in the arts and sciences in honor of Brendan Fahy Bequette. We continue to ‘Pay It Forward’ to honor Brendan’s memory and work.
- I joined the Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region for their block party and Ruby A. Hughes Beautification Day with Albany 518 SNUG this year. Great to see so many involved in our efforts throughout our neighborhoods and communities!
- I was happy to join Malik Dare for his third annual ‘Dare to Donate’ food drive at the South End Children’s Cafe and of course, to give a quick book reading too!
- This fall, I gathered with the Families for Safe Streets Coalition and other advocates to urge the Governor to sign life-saving ‘complete streets’ legislation into law that would encourage greater use of pedestrian and cyclist-friendly infrastructure in transportation infrastructure projects.
- We honored Downtube Bicycle Works owner Robert ‘Bob’ Fullem by announcing his business had been inducted into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry this year – congratulations, Bob!
- I welcomed Guilderland elementary school students to the Assembly Chambers this Fall and was impressed with their knowledge of state government and the legislature!
- Standing with Senator Michelle Hinchey, Town Supervisor Peter Barber, and Guilderland Schools officials to announce funding for a new sidewalk between Lydius St. and Pine Bush Elementary, a sidewalk along Rt. 20 and the Guilderland Public Library, multimodal access on Rt. 146 bridge, multi-modal access near the Watervliet Reservoir, and new equipment to maintain and improve trails in town parks and open spaces.
- Standing in Guilderland to announce a $250,000 grant we secured for a playground at Abele/McKownville Park, also used to fund 2 Stryker lifts to increase patient weight capacity of ambulances for Guilderland Emergency Medical Services, and improvements at the Mynderse-Frederick House including a new roof, windows, and exterior painting.
- Proud to announce with Voorheesville Public Library they’ve received $229,292 in library construction aid through the New York State Education Department for a new vestibule, entryway, circulation desk, and children’s play area. Additionally, the Albany Public Library’s Washington Avenue Branch will receive $235,985 for HVAC upgrades at the Washington Avenue Branch, for a total of $467,277 in total library construction aid for 109th District libraries.
- I joined Albany County Legislator Carolyn McLaughlin to welcome attendees to New York’s 2022 Cannabis Expo at the Albany Convention Center in October. As New York’s cannabis industry continues to grow, let’s ensure it’s both sustainable and equitable.
- With White House Infrastructure Czar Mitch Landrieu, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand during Landrieu's visit to Albany discussing reimagining I-787.
- Speaking on the Floor. I was proud to vote on a comprehensive package of gun safety legislation that ensures New York continues to lead the country on commonsense gun reform and control policy. This package has now been signed into law by Governor Hochul and demonstrates that New York will act where the federal government fails to.
- Recently, I had the opportunity to welcome dual language program students from Albany Schools to the Assembly Chamber where we talked about how bills become law, New York State government, and more!
- I joined Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, Congressman Paul Tonko, and other local leaders at the Albany March for Our Lives. We touted New York’s strong package of gun sense legislation that was recently signed into law by the Governor and to remember those we lost in Uvalde, and Buffalo over the past two months.
- Governor Hochul Signs Nation-Leading Climate Bills. I was proud to stand with Governor Kathy Hochul as she signed my Advanced Building Codes, Appliances, and Equipment Efficiency Act of 2022 into law.
This legislation will save consumers up to $15 Billion by 2035 and reduces the energy use in our overall building stock, critical to meeting our ambitious climate mandates. - Albany Pride 2022! I was proud to join the Capital Region’s LGBTQIA+ community to celebrate Pride Month this year for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic! In the face of any attempts to rollback hard won rights and benefits, New York State will always stand with our gay, lesbian, queer, and transgender neighbors.
- Pasty's Barber Shop Added to NYS Historic Business Registry. I was proud to nominate Patsy's Barber Shop in downtown Albany to the New York State Historic Business Registry. A staple of our community, Patsy's has been operating in the same spot since 1930, providing high-quality haircuts to patrons from across the state and region.
- Opening of the Albany Skyway. I was thrilled to join Governor Kathy Hochul, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and more for the grand opening of the Albany Skyway park! This first of its kind, elevated-linear park connects to downtown Albany, the Hudson River waterfront, and reflects a new wave of investment in the core of the Capital Region years in the making.
- Joining Senator Michelle Hinchey, local leaders, and more for a food drive this past February at the Guilderland Fire Department. Continuing to support our communities through the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t ceased–and there is always work to be done on the ground to support one another.
