Gray Sworn in; Announces Committee Assignments
Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) was sworn into office on Tuesday, Jan. 3 alongside other newly elected members of the Assembly Minority Conference.
“It was truly an honor to be sworn into office today alongside an impressive group of freshman lawmakers from around our state. Including the first ever Asian-American elected to the Minority Assembly Conference, Lester Chang. I look forward to hitting the ground running to best represent the constituents of the 116th Assembly District, whose voices I will be making heard on the floor of the ‘People’s House,’” said Gray.
In addition to being sworn in, Gray was assigned to multiple Assembly Committees by Minority Leader Will Barclay. He will serve as the ranking Minority member of the Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development Committee. Gray will also serve as a member of the Aging, Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Energy, Health, and Higher Education committees.
“I want to thank Leader Barclay for his steadfast leadership of the Minority Assembly Conference and his trust in me to serve on a wide array of committees. As ranking Minority member of the Tourism, Parks, and Sports Development Committee, my goal is to continue to tap into the great potential of our district by building on the success of programs like the recent World University Winter Games at Clarkson University. I also look forward to strengthening lines of communication with the five universities in our district and the New York Power Authority. Strong communication with these organizations will only help with my work on both the Higher Education and Energy committees,” concluded Gray.
