Gray Celebrates Success of Hammond Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team with Passage of Assembly Resolution

Resolution K00403, sponsored by Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown), was passed last Monday, May 8, 2023, to commemorate the Hammond Central School Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team for their successful 2023 championship season. The Red Devils captured the NYSPHSAA Girls Basketball Class D Championship on Sunday, March 19, 2023, with a record of 21-1. Gray hosted the team in Albany on May 15 to recognize their hard-fought achievement.

The Red Devils are exemplary of this sentiment; their pursuit of excellence showcases the outcome of hard work. The principles of teamwork and good sportsmanship the team developed will prepare them for the future and will encourage others to adhere to these values for their own success. Congratulations to the Red Devils for a job well done and to the coaches for their dedication to this team. As a friend of the North Country, I’m very proud of the honor you brought to both your school and community,” Gray said.
