‘The Gray Area’ Discusses NY-Rush Impact on North Country, Introduces New Segment
Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) released the latest episode of “The Gray Area” video series. In this week’s episode, Gray discusses the impact of NY-RUSH on local communities, visitors in Albany this week and a new segment: Question of the Week.
“This week in Albany we took a deeper look at the Redevelopment of Underutilized Sites for Housing initiative (NY-RUSH), which has the potential to impact our communities in the North Country through decommissioned prisons, the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and decommissioned buildings on SUNY campuses. The $500 million appropriation will be split between this year and next year to redevelop those sites.”
“I’d like to express my gratitude to the groups that visited my Albany office this week—New Yorkers For Constitutional Freedoms and the American Red Cross—and for the opportunity to attend a New York State United Teachers reception held here in Albany. Furthermore, I joined a press conference at the Capitol to denounce the governor’s hastily proposed prison closures, a matter I have been consistently vocal about.”
“As part of a new segment, I will be addressing a question from one of my constituents each week. This week’s inquiry was, ‘Who has been the most enjoyable member to work with in Albany?’ Tune in to The Gray Area for my response! “Look out for next week’s episode of The Gray Area as we continue to update you on what you care about. We always appreciate the opportunity to serve you and to work with you. Don’t hesitate to call my office staff with questions, comments or concerns—see you soon,” Gray concluded.
