Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) was proud to host Aveline Hellings of La Fargeville Central School at the New York State Capitol yesterday as part of the League of Women Voters of New York State Education Foundation Shadowing Program. Aveline is a standout member of the La Fargeville women’s basketball team that clinched the Class D state championship this winter. She is participating in the Students Inside Albany program, which is organized by the League of Women Voters of New York State.

“I am thrilled to welcome Aveline Hellings to the Capitol,” said Gray. “As a bright young woman from our district and a champion on the basketball court, Aveline is a familiar face and a source of pride for our community. It’s a privilege to be able to host Aveline through the League of Women Voters’ Shadowing Program, and I’m excited to share insights about state government while learning from her perspective as a future leader.”
