Leader Barclay Stands With Crime Victim Advocates In Honor Of Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Today, Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski), alongside his Assembly Minority colleagues, joined crime victim advocates including Sammy Ravelo, a Navy veteran and retired NYPD Lieutenant (pictured left of Barclay), who walked from the Bronx to the Capitol to raise awareness for today’s event. Participants at today’s rally at the New York State Capitol called on the Legislature to revise bail laws and keep repeat offenders from committing acts of violence in our communities.

Barclay and members of the Assembly Minority Conference will continue to fight for victims’ rights and common-sense policies that put the rights of law-abiding citizens before criminals.

Today’s rally coincides with National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which is an annual awareness campaign highlighting individuals who have been directly affected by crime, including victims, their families and dedicated individuals within our communities who support them. Barclay commended the courageous and passionate people who traveled from New York City to Albany to share their stories.
