Barclay Announces Summer Reading Challenge

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I,ref-Pulaski) today invited children to participate in this year’s Assembly Summer Reading Challenge. Students who read at least 15 minutes per day for 40 days this summer and send completed reading challenge forms into Barclay’s office will receive an official Assembly certificate and be invited to the annual Summer Reading Challenge party.

“The Summer Reading Challenge is a great way to incentivize students and to reward them for their hard work and dedication to reading during the summer,” said Barclay. “Reading is an excellent way to continue learning and I am hopeful students will take on this challenge and read at least 15 minutes a day this summer. I was thrilled with the turnout from last year, and I look forward to celebrating with those who choose to take part in this year’s challenge.”

This challenge runs July 1 through August 31 and can be combined with other local library challenges. Local schools and libraries distributed reading challenges. If you and your family have not received a form and would like one, please contact Assemblyman Barclay’s office at 315-598-5185 or email at barclaw@nyassembly.gov.
