Fighting for the best for our children Assemblywoman Carrozza has consistently fought for funding for our schools. This year, the Assembly and Senate united in a bipartisan spirit to restore more than $1.1 billion of the governor’s proposed cuts to education across the state, including a $360 million restoration for New York City schools. Supporting a fair share for New York City schools Assemblywoman Carrozza hailed a recent ruling by the state’s highest court calling for changes to the state’s formula for allocating school funding. The ruling will help put an end to the shortchanging of New York City schools, which has caused classroom overcrowding and teacher shortages. Assemblywoman Carrozza will work to create a new funding formula that invests in successful programs like pre-K and full-day kindergarten and ensures our schools can give our children a top-notch education. Curbing harassment in school Children need a safe, welcoming and affirming school environment in order to concentrate on their academic and personal growth, free of harassment or discrimination.
