Making a Difference in Albany
Members of the Kings County Hospital Community Advisory Board (KCHCAB) met with Assemblywoman
Weinstein in Albany to discuss the impact of the Governor's proposed budget cuts would have on NYC's
Hospitals. Included in the group were community leaders, Terrence LaPierre, KCHCAB Boardmember and
Josephine Bolus, New York City Health & Hospital Corporations Boardmember.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein met with representatives from Agudath Israel of America to forestall
proposed budget cuts that could have a disastrous impact on the Yeshivos across New York State. The
Assemblywoman also discussed a piece of legislation she introduced that would require New York City
to reimburse schools for transportation provided after 5 p.m. Pictured with the Assemblywoman are Rabbi
Shmuel Lefkowitz, Vice President for Intergovernmental and Community for Agudah, and Chaskel Bennett
and Leon Goldenberg, both members of the board of trustees, and community leaders.
