You’re Invited... 2007 Inaugural Service and Gala Dear Constituent, Seasons Greetings. I had hoped to get this report out to you before the rush of the holidays, but the pressing need to meet with constituents and address the many problems facing the neighborhoods in my district kept me fully occupied and away from my desk. However, the time away from my desk has been spent very productively, and so I hope that as you read this report you will agree that I am working to fulfill your expectations of me. I am acutely aware that you will not be satisfied with me spending all my time working on legislation. I also know that you expect me to be actively involved in securing for our community some essential programs and services we must get to improve, or at least maintain the quality of life in our neighborhoods. With your continued support and help, I assure you that I will do no less. As you prepare to enjoy the holiday season, I must begin to prepare for the new legislative session that begins in January 2007. Having served you for the past seven terms earning significant seniority and experience, I will surely be much sharper during budget negotiations, but still I need to hear from you about some of the programs you will want to be enhanced and protected from any future cuts. I am available to meet or speak with you by telephone, so please call, write or visit. As is my custom since you elected me, I will be taking the oath of office that begins my new term with a Thanksgiving Service and a Gala Thank You Dinner Party. You are invited to join me, please come. As this year grows old and comes to a close, may the joys of the holiday season fill your home, and may you be blessed with good health and prosperity for the remainder of 2006 and throughout 2007. I thank you again for your confidence in me and for giving me the opportunity to serve you as your representative.
