SAFE STREETS FOR SENIORSCatchment Area: West 79th to West 96th Streets

Thursday, November 15th
Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew
263 West 86th Street (at West End Ave.)
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Many seniors have called my office about unsafe conditions for pedestrians in the northern part of my district, above 79th Street. I invite you to this first meeting in a study to identify problematic intersections and other barriers to senior safety on the streets. In subsequent meetings, we will work with the urban planners from Transportation Alternatives to evaluate the problems identified and craft recommendations for the New York City Department of Transportation. As NYCDOT gears up to improve traffic conditions on the Upper West Side, it’s important that senior citizens, some of our most vulnerable pedestrians, have input and are protected. Please RSVP to (212) 873-6368.
