“New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out has been extended until available funding runs out. New Yorkers still have a chance to save money while reducing the environmental impact of older appliances and decreasing New York’s overall energy consumption.”

New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out has been extended and New York State consumers can still get rebates for purchasing ENERGY STAR-rated refrigerators, clothes washers, freezers and dishwashers until the money runs out. Because funds are limited, consumers should check the “Remaining Funds Countdown” at: www.nyapplianceswapout.com before purchasing. Rebate applications must be postmarked by April 30. The extension, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, gives New Yorkers a renewed opportunity to swap out old appliances for energy-efficient ones. Customers purchasing appliances during this window may qualify for the following individual rebates:
Refrigerator
Refrigerators: $75
($105 with documented recycling of old appliance)

Clothes Washer
Clothes washers: $75
($100 with documented recycling of old appliance)

Freezers
Freezers: $50
($75 with documented recycling of old appliance)
Dishwasher
Dishwashers: Rebates are only available for dishwashers when they are purchased as part of an approved three-appliance package (dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer). These will qualify for a $500 rebate ($550 with documented recycling of old appliance).
Many retailers are expected to offer free recycling to make it easier to receive the maximum rebate, and NYSERDA is coordinating efforts with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York City Department of Sanitation so consumers can also recycle their appliances at local landfills, waste stations and recycling centers.
