• The proposed NYRI project fails to solve the bottleneck problem that exists in getting power into New York City and its suburbs;

• Studies have shown that property values will drop on and around the path of towering power lines, creating a shortage of tax funds and leading to a loss of services or a rise in taxes;

• Those along the path of the proposed line will see no direct benefit from the electricity running along towering poles that create an eyesore;

• Residents throughout the path of the proposed project are outraged and refuse to be the victims of another New York City project such as Marcy South;

• The proposed path runs near schools and playing fields. While there is no direct evidence high-power electromagnetic fields cause cancer, there is no evidence to dismiss that the power lines NYRI wants to use do not;

• As your state representative, Assemblyman Finch vows to protect your interests in this matter by working to stop the proposed NYRI project from negatively impacting Central New York.
