Assemblyman Magnarelli’s STAR improvements mean easier savings for more seniors.

Enhanced STAR can reduce school property taxes an average of 60% ($970) a year for eligible Onondaga County homeowners 65 and over with incomes up to $62,100.

Last year, Magnarelli fought to raise income eligibility levels for enhanced STAR, providing more seniors with needed tax relief. Now, it’s easier to keep your enhanced STAR savings through the STAR Income Verification Program – which eliminates the need to reapply every year.

You must apply by March 3rd, 2003 to take advantage of enhanced STAR – even if you applied last year – and don’t forget to sign up for the STAR Income Verification Program. If you’re ineligible for enhanced STAR, basic STAR could still save you an average of 36% ($600) per year – savings too good to miss.
