Helping businesses compete

Magnarelli secured:

  • $45,000 for the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Marketing Plan

  • $90,000 for the daVinci Jobs Web Project

  • $200,000 for engineering internships for local businesses

  • $500,000 for the Syracuse Center of Excellence Commercialization Assistance Program

Revitalizing downtown

  • $5 million for the construction of the OnCenter Hotel

  • $2 million for renovations of the 300 Block of South Salina Street – Downtown

  • $3 million in additional renovation funds for the Landmark Theatre ($6.5 total funded)

Expanding university programs

To capture the economic potential of Syracuse’s colleges and universities, Magnarelli continues to work as chair of the Assembly Task Force on University-Industry Cooperation, securing funding for developments such as:

  • $5 million for the RESTORE Center (Life Sciences Center at Syracuse University)

  • $125,000 for Syracuse University’s Commercialization Law Clinic

  • $14 million transferred from Syracuse University’s State loan obligations to local economic community projects
