Silver, Paterson and Smith met with U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and New York’s House of Representative members to discuss the state’s financial challenges and what the federal government could do to help the state retain essential services, fund education and health care, create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

The delegation also met with elected officials from both houses, including House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland), Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-South Carolina) and U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada).
