Budget Highlights

The Governors Office of Regulatory Reform (GORR) focuses on oversight of State regulations, provides information on regulatory requirements, and attempts to expedite regulatory approval.

This Office is included in the Public Protection and General Government appropriation bill.

State Operations

The Governor recommends a State Operations General Fund appropriation of $3,115,000 reflecting a State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2003-04 decrease of $587,000 attributable to the following:

  • a $250,000 decrease achieved by eliminating a non-recurring cost from SFY 2002-03 associated with the agency's move to Agency Building 1; and

  • a $337,000 net decrease in funding reflecting salary adjustments, elimination of vacant positions, continuation of the hiring freeze and other costs associated with the agency operations.
