Budget Highlights

The Temporary State Commission of Investigation is a bipartisan fact finding agency, which investigates and reports on organized crime, racketeering, the conduct of public officers, and other matters affecting public peace, safety and justice. This agency is included in the Public Protection and General Government appropriation bill.

State Operations

The Executive proposes an All Funds State Operations appropriation of $3,050,000, reflecting a decrease of $131,000, or 4.1 percent from State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2003-04. The State Operations General Fund appropriation of $2,864,000 reflects a $51,000 reduction from SFY 2003-04 funding levels. This net decrease in funding reflects the following actions: an increase of $22,000 associated with fixed costs, a decrease of $67,000 in personal service costs, and a reduction of $6,000 associated with savings related to the agency vehicles.

The Executive also recommends a State Operations Special Revenue-Other appropriation of $186,000 for SFY 2003-04, which reflects a 30.08 percent decrease from current year funding levels. The net decrease reflects a $8,000 increase associated with agency fixed costs; a decrease of $23,000 attributable to personal service realignment; and a decrease of $57,000 related to fringe benefits and indirect costs.
