Graf, Island Harvest, Bayport-Blue Point Library Team Up To Fight Hunger
Assemblyman organizes food drive for needy Long Islanders
October 31, 2011
Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C–Holbrook) is teaming up with Island Harvest Food Banks of Long Island and the Bayport-Blue Point Library to conduct a food drive from October 31 to November 21. Assemblyman Graf will be soliciting food and other donations at his office and the library where they will be packaged and distributed by Island Harvest. “The holidays are fast approaching, and there’s no time like the present to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate members of our community that are hungry and in need of our help,” said Graf. “Island Harvest does a tremendous job meeting the needs of Long Island’s hungry, and I commend them and the Bayport-Blue Point Library for joining me in this food drive. I encourage anyone that can spare some food to contact my office and help us do right by our struggling neighbors.” The food drive will be accepting items like canned vegetables, meats, fish and fruits, as well as baby formula, personal care and hygiene items. For more information, please contact Assemblyman Al Graf’s office at (631) 589-8685, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
