February 2, 2012

Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C-Holbrook) today announced his support for the Long Island Cares first annual “Join Hearts for Hunger” February Legislative Food Drive Challenge.

“During hard times, it is important that communities come together to support one another,” says Assemblyman Graf. “Through no fault of their own, countless parents are struggling to meet the basic need of feeding their families. Together, we can pull through these tough times. Please take a moment to lend a helping hand to those in our community who are in need of assistance.”

Last year, through food drives across Suffolk and Nassau counties, Long Island Cares collected over 940,000 pounds of food. The food drive will be accepting non-perishable items such as canned vegetables, meats, fish and fruits. Donations will be collected at 859 Montauk Highway, Suite 1, in Bayport during the month of February. For more information, please contact Assemblyman Al Graf’s office at (631) 589-8685, or
