Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) and Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) will be hosting Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Forums on:

  • Tuesday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Merrick Library, 2279 Merrick Avenue, Merrick; and
  • Monday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wantagh Fire Department, 3470 Park Avenue, Wantagh.

McDonough and Fuschillo will be discussing how residents can prepare in the event of an emergency. The presentation will be made by the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management.

These forums will include information regarding the many precautions that can be taken to ensure that residents remain safe and who to call for assistance. Having a plan ahead of time is the key to survival.

“Hazards come in many forms, such as storm surges, high winds, flooding and tornadoes. Being aware of your surroundings and using common sense can avoid catastrophes. That is why we are hosting these forums and urging all residents to attend,” said McDonough.
