Assemblyman Montesano Encourages Participation In This Year’s Toys For Tots Holiday Toy Drive

November 22, 2010

To help ensure that all children have a memorable holiday experience, Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) is teaming up with the United States Marine Corps Reserve for their annual Toys for Tots Holiday Toy Drive. Each year, since 1947, the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has collected new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December and distributed the toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in communities across the county.

Assemblyman Montesano’s office has set up collection boxes where new, unwrapped toys can be donated at several locations throughout the community. Donated toys will be collected until Friday, December 10th. The following locations are collecting donated toys for this year’s Toys for Tots drive:

  • Assemblyman Montesano’s Office
    111 Levittown Parkway
    Hicksville, NY 11801
  • Senior Citizens of Westbury Center
    360 Post Avenue
    Westbury, NY 11590
  • Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public Library
    89 East Main Street
    Oyster Bay, NY 11771
  • Oyster Bay Fire Department
    188 South Street
    Oyster Bay, NY 11771
  • Gold Coast Public Library
    50 Railroad Avenue
    Glen Head, NY 1154

“By donating toys, individuals can help make the holidays a memorable and enjoyable occasion for all children,” Montesano said. “In these difficult economic times, it is important to give back to the community and help make a difference for children whose parents may have lost a job by donating a new toy to help brighten the holiday season.”
