Governor’s Budget Plan Reflects A Harsh Reality

The budget plan reflects the tough choices and harsh realities that New York state faces. The state is in a dire fiscal crisis and the budget is a product of that situation. I am excited that the governor took on many of the structural issues engrained in the process; however, I will refrain from responding fully until I carefully review 1,000+ pages of documents and discern how the proposals will directly affect my constituents. My ultimate priority is to ensure that our community, schools and local hospitals aren’t unfairly targeted and that the entirety of New York state shares in the sacrifice.
