Executive Budget Takes Needed Steps

Statement from Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (R,C,I – Glen Head)
January 18, 2012

“With his 2012-2013 Executive Budget proposal, it seems that Governor Cuomo is taking reform of New York’s education system seriously, while still managing to maintain the fiscal discipline necessary to spur the economy.

“By finally limiting the spending increases at the state level and redesigning the government to make it more efficient, New York State can pursue aggressive economic growth and development. As the budget hearings begin, I will work to ensure that Nassau County and the rest of New York remain open for business, as well as push for an education system that stresses accountability and rewards skilled teachers while removing wasteful spending and teachers who fail to meet evaluation standards.”
