Montesano Votes To Ban Sale And Distribution Of Synthetic Marijuana

May 24, 2012
Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head) joined his colleagues in the Assembly today to ban the sale and distribution of synthetic marijuana statewide. Synthetic marijuana, while sold and marketed as potpourri and incense, provides many of the same effects as marijuana and cocaine. For Montesano, banning this harmful drug will protect children from exposure to these dangerous substances.

“I am pleased that my colleagues and I have taken a strong stance and banned the sale and distribution of synthetic marijuana,” said Montesano. “This harmful drug has been a threat to the safety and well-being of our children for too long. I am glad that our young people will no longer be exposed to its dangerous effects.”
