Dysfunction Continues as Taxpayers Bear the Burden of Another Late State Budget
Statement by Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I – East Meadow)
April 8, 2010
The New York state budget is now officially seven days late and counting. Yet, despite the fact that we are entering week two of a late budget, the Majority has done nothing to further the budget process. They have yet to release a timetable to complete the budget or a schedule of conference committee meetings. The longer this charade goes on, the longer payments to schools and construction businesses are delayed. I’m in Albany, ready to work and I call on the Majority in both houses to join me and get the people’s business done.
