McKevitt Stands By New York’s Construction Workers as Budget Delays Projects
Statement by Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,I,C – East Meadow)
April 30, 2010
Today, construction workers from across the state convened in Albany to demand that the governor include funding, for construction contractors for infrastructure projects, that already was approved by the state, but has since been reneged. Unfortunately, as the budget process remains at a standstill, these projects are now unfunded and contractors and their employees are being put out of work. I call on the governor to include funding for these projects in the emergency budget extender and allow these hardworking men and women to get back to work.
